RFIs and Responses
RFIs
1. RPF page 7 states Training should include 40-hour and annual updates however spec section 01 35 26 states only OSHA 30 for supervisors and OSHA 10 for all employees. Please clarify.
2. Please clarify the COVID testing and mask requirements
3. Please provide actual conductor size of the new cable being installed as replacement of the existing cables
4. Please provide manhole lay-outs and cable routing inside manholes
5. Are some of the manholes pull through or do they all have termination points?
6. Provide pictures of existing manhole accessibility and working access inside of the manholes
Responses
1. OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 are all that are required.
2. Contracting will provide the requirements for testing.
3. 500 Kcmil and 4/0 Grounds

5. Some manholes have junction breaks and others are spliced based on the age of the cables per the drawings in the solicitation.

Would it be possible to get a one-line diagram showing the medium voltage cable lines 1 and 2 that are getting replaced? – see attachment
8. Are there any new ductbanks being installed other than the underground conduit manhole 11 to existing switch 11? – manhole 10 to garage A. Manhole 11 to garage B
9. Is there only one new medium voltage switch being installed at the garages as mentioned in the scope of work? 2 switches are called out in SOW.
10. What size 15KV cable are lines 1 and 2? See response on 3.
11. The scope indicates replacing all the cable 10 – 25 years indicated by green dashed line on the drawings. Is this one line and what size cable? Drawing ES101, also the scope of work identifies the work.
12. Are the old/original in need of replacement lines on the drawing lines 1 and 2 mentioned in the scope of work? Yes, in the SOW
13. Will a temporary generator be required for the cutovers? NO
14. Will any of the existing sectionalizes or transformers need to be replaced? Transformers and switches are not going to be replaced.
15. In 1.1 general intention of the specifications, it mentions repairing all fire doors in building 1 and
23. Is this part of the scope of work? If so, how many doors are there? There will be zero doors replaced in this project.
