Spec section 01-00-00-1.6.G states: To ensure such executions, Contractor shall furnish the COR/Contracting Officer’s Representative with a schedule of approximate phasing dates on which the Contractor intends to accomplish work in each specific area of site, building or portion thereof. In addition, Contractor shall notify the COR/Contracting Officer’s Representative two weeks in advance of the proposed date of starting work in each specific area of site, building or portion thereof. Arrange such phasing dates to insure accomplishment of this work in successive phases mutually agreeable to Medical Center Director, COR, and Contractor. Question: There are no phases indicated on drawings. What are the phasing sequences expected by the government? This is a General Requirement. No Phasing is expected on this project

5. Spec Section 01-00-00-1.17D. Government does not guarantee that other materials will not be encountered, nor that proportions, conditions or character of several materials will not vary from those indicated by explorations. Bidders are expected to examine site of work and logs of borings; and, after investigation, decide for themselves character of materials and make their bids accordingly. Upon proper application to Department of Veterans Affairs, bidders will be permitted to make subsurface explorations of their own at site.

Question: Are there boring logs that can be made available as stated in the specification?

No Borings were performed

6. The drawing labeled “Erosion Control and Site Plan” shows both temporary seeding (TS) as well as permanent seeding (PS) being placed in the limits of disturbance. Detail #1 on the “Permeable Grid System / Parking Stall Installation” shows 5/8” dia/clean aggregate on top and makes no mention of any type of seeding. Question: Can you please confirm the intent of the finished product (i.e., grass or no grass)? Parking area to be finished with gravel and any disturbance outside of it will be fixed and permanently seeded

No SWPP is required

12. The drawing labeled “Civil Details and Notes” under the section called “Erosion and Control Sediment” states “The new parking lot is comprised of a two-way (30-ft wide) travel lane with parking stalls on either side. The new parking lot is constructed over a relatively flat, grassed area with low slopes (less than 5%) and follows natural contours of the land in an effort to maintain existing drainage patterns. The drawing labeled “Demolition / Grading Plan” shows existing and new contours.

• Question: At the site visit, a noticeable dip in the terrain was present, can you please confirm that there are no requirements for any additional drainage systems (i.e., culverts) other than the gravel diaphragm (detail D1) depicted on the drawings? Install per Plans and Specs.

13. The drawing labeled “Erosion Control and Site Plan” depicts the new parking lot expansion tying into the existing parking lot.

• Question: At the site visit, the tie-in area did not appear to be a parking lot, rather a graveled area. Can you please confirm that there is no work in this area other than butting up to this area with the new parking lot as required by the drawing? Bring New parking Lot up even with existing Parking Lot. Once laid out we can confirm more
