Request For Quotes 36C24621Q1130 Solicitation Questions and Answers
Question 1:
Question: After reviewing the attached solicitation and being the incumbent, I noticed that the description and line items are not what the VA is currently doing. There is no longer a 34yd compactor for solid waste in place. Currently they have put in a Sani-Pak that is VA owned. They are processing both RMW and Solid Waste into this machine and it is being dumped as solid waste. Also, they currently have a 30yd open top not a 40yd at the bottom of the hill as a permanent can for use of over flow/furniture etc. They also occasionally put in an additional 30yd for projects.
Government response: There is a separate contract for registered medical waste.
There is an onsite compactor that is owned by the Government. The line items have been changed to reflect the correct needs.
Question 2:
Please confirm the compactor/dumpster requirements as a total of (1) compactor and
(1) 40-yard dumpster.
Government response: There is already a Government-owned compactor onsite to be used in the performance of this contract. As a response to these questions, the line items have been revised to reflect the Government’s need.
