Questions and Answers SPS Water Testing

1. What type of equipment/locations are proposed to be sampled? Are there sampling ports or easy access for the collection of samples? Medivators, tap and RO/DI Sampling ports are available. Locations are located in sterile areas, so the individual must be escorted and where PPE (hair covering, gloves, foot coverings, face shield, gown and face mask) are provided.

2. Will there be a need for any special sampling equipment? No

3. Is there ample access to the sampling locations? Yes

4. Can you confirm the number of sample locations per facility-It appears based on the price schedule there are the following number of locations sampled monthly per facility:

· 2 locations sampled monthly at the Fayetteville VAMC Tap and DI

· 6 locations sampled monthly at the Fayetteville HCC Tap, RO (pre filter, post filter and sink location) and two medivators.

· 4 locations sampled monthly at the Wilmington HCC Tap, RO and two medivators.

5. What level of data package is required? Sample results and chain of custody

6. Can you please provide a list of the specific compounds required for the Ionic contaminants analysis? Should this be ROSE/modified ROSE and Ion chromatography? AAMI standards

7. What method should be used for the ionic chloride analysis? AAMI standards

8. What method should be used for the bacterial endotoxin- ASTM ST72? AAMI standards

9. Page 14, H Ionic contaminant - I’m assuming it is Nitrate, Nitrite, Fluoride, Chloride and Sulfate. Shall I quote that? AAMI standards

10. Are there any state reporting requirements or all the results shared only with the POC at the VA? POC

11. Section 6 (Maintenance Conformance Standards) states: “A. Contract service shall ensure that critical and utility water testing, routine preventative maintenance, and reporting requirements are performed per VHA Directive 1116(2).” Is there a list of equipment that requires periodic PMs? If so, can you please provide the details? The resulting contract from this solicitation will not include PM’s. The equipment is maintained under separate contracts.
