X The purpose of this amendment is to address all technical questions submitted:

A) See attached A 1. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: Fire Suppression Testing.

Q1) As in the solicitation, 1 – SPECIAL PROCEDURES, page 9 E. The inspection agency will use Building Reports platform and provide the VA Safety with password access to allow the VA safety Staff to access past reports. This is to allow for continuity for report storage.

Are you referring to the www.buildingreports.com specific program or do you have a third party non-proprietary program that you are providing in lieu of this? Will you accept inspection reports that meet The Joint Commission Accreditation regulations and compliance requirements for EC .02.03.05?

A1) We want the BuildingReports.com platform used, this will allow for uniformity with what we have used during the past 6 years and it allows us the ability to go into the platform a print off the reports if any com up missing.

Q2) As in the solicitation, F. Barcoding of all Sprinkler Appliances will be used for scanning purposes.

Is the fire sprinkler system and all components currently barcoded?

A2) Yes, the current devices are barcoded

Q3) As in the solicitation, J. The contractor shall be responsible for all repairs due to any damage to equipment that is done while performing the services listed in this contract.

Are you referring to damage that the vendor causes or damage due to age of equipment or fault of any other person or party?

A3) If the Contractor damages the system during testing or repair work, they will be required to fix it.

Q4) As in the solicitation, K.Systems and equipment to be serviced under this contract are listed as follows:
1.The contractor shall compare initial inventory listing and verify this listing and description of the water-based fire protection systems: Dry Fire Protection, and Antifreeze Systems, kitchen hood systems and fire extinguishers are complete by making their own assessment to assure that all systems and components will be serviced.

If there is a discrepancy in inventory counts due to inaccurate information, build outs, devices, panels or new systems added to any building represented in RFQ, will the COR allow for an amendment and price increase?

A4) Yes, a modification to the contract would have to be completed by the Contracting Officer to add any unaccounted-for inventory or new systems.

Q5) Is there going to be a scheduled walk through?

A5) As stated in E.1 Instructions to Quoters, 1.0 Site Visit on page 31, “Quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost and/or the contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. The site visits will be conducted on a mutually agreeable date if requested.” There were no requests received for a site visit.
