X The purpose of this amendment is to address questions received to date, provide a corrected Davis-Bacon Act General Decision Number: VA20190172, provide site conditions pictures to assist with bidding and provide the Comprehensive Survey for Asbestos Containing Materials dated in year 2010.
All proposals must be delivered to arrive not later than Wednesday September 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. (EST), at the following address:

Q1) Will storage be made available to us to store material and tools? Or will we have to arrange for local storage?
A1) Contractor is responsible for its own storage.
Q2) Will Union labor be required?
A2) Labor workforce is the responsibility of the contractor.
Q3) Will there be orientation and badging required before work is able to begin?
A3) Yes, all employees shall be badge before work commences on job site.
Q4) Will installations be permitted on weekends or evenings?
A4) Yes, just need to coordinate with the COR as needed. All reasonable request will be entertained on a case by case basis subject to the Facility operation needs.
Q5) Can viega propress fittings be utilized on this project for domesitc water piping? This will help reduce the amount of hot work conducted inside of critical spaces in the hospital.
A5) Yes, reference specification section 22 11 00 paragraph 2.2.B.3.
Q6) Can flexible lavatory supply hoses be used instead of chrome tubes be utilized?
A6) No. Reference specification 22 11 00 paragraph 2.3.A Q7) How many lavatories will be provided each day to change out mixing valves? We need at least 20 per day.
A7) The VA cannot guarantee a standard minimum number of lavatories that will be available each day as this will vary depending on the use of space/rooms in each building. Reference specification section 01 00 00 paragraph 1.6.I. which states:
The Medical Center must maintain its operation 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Therefore, any interruption in service must be scheduled and coordinated with the COR to ensure that no lapses in operation occur.
It is the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to develop a work plan and schedule detailing, at a minimum, the procedures to be employed, the equipment and materials to be used, the interim life safety measure to be used during the work, and a schedule defining the duration of the work with milestone subtasks. The work to be outlined shall include, but not be limited to:
To insure such executions, Contractor shall furnish the COR with a schedule of approximate dates on which the Contractor intends to accomplish work in each specific area of site, building or portion thereof. In addition, Contractor shall notify the COR two weeks in advance of the proposed date of starting work in each specific area of site, building or portion thereof. Arrange such dates to insure accomplishment of this work in successive phases mutually agreeable Q8) What time of day will the under sink mixing valves work be allowed to be conducted?

Q11) Where will the designated laydown parking area be for workers accessing the construction site?

Q12) Will the government accept the use of the industry leading Procore Project Management software as the primary submittal and data tracking tool for this project? The software is compatible with the VA’s networks and is currently in use at many VA locations.

Q13) Will the qualified Superintendent be able to fill roles as the SSHO and QCM if required?
