5. The following Questions and Answers regarding this solicitation are provided:
(1) Question: Will the current mounts (that support PDI’s) be able to be used for the new TV’s? I am most concerned about the VESA patterns from the existing mounts. If there is a need for new mounts then the cost will increase by the cost of the mount and the removal of the existing mount and installation of the new mount, and then there is the time frame of waiting for new mounts to get to your facility. There is a time factor and a cost to keep the installer longer at the facility to wait for the mounts.
Answer: Yes
(2) Question: Will the TV’s be installed with the patients in the rooms or do they have to wait until the patient leaves? I ask because that might be an issue with getting installers to wait and do nothing? Once again the cost of keeping the installer goes up.
Answer: In the event a patient cannot exit the room the TV will be removed from the bracket taken out of the room for the bracket to be removed and installed on the new TV. The new TV will then be taken into the room and placed on the arm.
(3) Question: Will you require new jumper cables?
Answer: No, in the event one is needed it will be provided by the VA.
(4) Question: Will you require new coax cables?
Answer: No, in the event one is needed it will be provided by the VA.
(5) Question: What size PDI Televisions are installed at the hospital currently?
Answer: Various sizes
(6) Question: What type of mounting bracket is currently installed? What is the mounting hole pattern of the mount? The LG 43” set has a 200 X 200 vesa mounting pattern.
Answer: Mounting brackets are universal and accept any vesa pattern as long as the TV is at least 43”.
(7) Question: Will we be able to go in and replace all televisions in one trip or will we be required to make multiple trips?
Answer: Post Award installation schedule will be established.
(8) Question: Can we work inside occupied rooms?
Answer: In the event a patient cannot exit the room the TV will be removed from the bracket taken out of the room for the bracket to be removed and installed on the new TV. The new TV will then be taken into the room and placed on the arm.
(9) Question: What is the remote outlet on the wall behind the TV? Example: It could be ¼”, 5-pin, 6-pin etc.
Answer: Coax, ¼ inch likely to the ceiling, 6-pin or 7-pin.
(10) Question: Is there space available to store the new televisions?
Answer: The VA will provide a staging area during installation only, the VA will not accept delivery or responsibility prior to installation on site.
(11) Question: Can we drop a trailer to load the old PDI Sets to be taken to the landfill or recycling center?
Answer: Yes
(12) Question: On page 4 of 36 under Note 1, it states that all televisions are properly secured to mounting hardware at all existing locations, but on page 18 of 36 under the Key Features 5th bullet it states that commercial grade stands are to be used, can you please verify if stands will be used. The SOW does not call out for TV's to be mounted to walls (or hung from ceilings-depending on the new locations for the additional 10 TV's) but to existing mounting systems, please clarify.
Answer: No stands
(13) Question: On page 4 of 36 of the solicitation in Note 2, it states that the work will be accomplished during normal duty hours from Mon thru Fri 8am to 4:30pm, however on page 5 of 36 in para 4.7 it states that the security badges will be returned daily by 3:30pm, can this be extended to meet the duty hours?
Answer: Yes
(14) Question: For the TVs, there are three types of hospital type remotes that are available for the LGs, please provide clarification of which type is required, i.e. Regular remotes like at home, Healthcare patient remote or a Direct Access Pillow Speaker remote?
Answer: Pillow speaker remotes are in place, regular remotes should be included with each TV and five master programmer remotes should be included in the procurement.
(15) Question: What company or companies are your current satellite provider(s) for your campus facility, can you provide contact information?
Answer: N/A
(16) Question: Will a site visit be available?
Answer: Yes, if you require a site visit please request via email no later than Dec 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM. All requests will be scheduled at one time prior to close of the quote.
(17) Question: After installation of all TVs are completed and are accepted by Hampton VAMC, will there be a maintenance service/support required, 30, 60 days etc.?
Answer: No
(18) Question: It seems there are "new" locations that ten TVs are going into, we are removing 240 and installing 250? Will there be drawings of where the additional ten TVs will be installed or will someone with authorization be directing those installation points and will they new mounting systems?
Answer: Please refer to changed item schedule in Paragraph 2, above.
(19) Question: The SOW is to remove the TV's from the facility; it is not stated but from past experiences the existing (old) wall mounted TV's will have brackets, are they also to be removed (the new TVs will not be able to use existing brackets)? If so, will the contractor be required to provide new mounting systems and patch/repair the old mounting holes if they cannot be re-utilized?
Answer: Existing brackets will be used.

Answer: ASCOM Telligence
(21) Question: Do you need these pillow speakers to have special function? Lights/no lights.
Answer: Light control is needed

Answer: N/A

Answer: N/A
(24) Question: Do you know the current model being removed from the facility?
Answer. Approximately 5-6 different models.
(25) Question: Can you tell me what PDI mounts are currently installed?
Answer: We have some ceiling mounts & wall mounts
(26) Question: What type of cable will be hooked to the TV’s? Cat V? Coax?
Answer: Coax for satellite signal & CAT V used by Getwell
(27) Question: For the wall mounts you want, do you want tilt or articulating?
Answer: N/A
(28) Question: Are the current 240 displays wall mounted or on a table stand?
Answer: We have wall mounts and ceiling mounts.
