CONTINUATION PAGE

Question 1: Is this a new opportunity?

Gov’t Response 1: Yes Question 2: Is there an incumbent on current contract? If so, what is the contract award #?

Gov’t Response 2: No Question 3: If incumbent, is first right of refusal in effect?

Gov’t Response 3: No current incumbent Question 4: If new requirement, can you extend the due date by a couple of days to allow more time to recruit?

Gov’t Response 4: No Question 5: The pricing has 152 hrs. designated for call and PWS has “possible On-call services” but then also states: “Provides on-call services. At least eight (8) weekdays a month and one (1) weekend a month.” This is well over 152 hours (more like 2016 hours). Can you please confirm which is correct?

Gov’t Response 5: On-Call hours are a “possibility”: ‘Primary on-call services are handled by the Gov’t.” Contracted On-Call services are back up only in case of emergencies.” The government has requested 152 hrs. be dedicated to “Possible On-Call” with no guarantee they will be needed.

Question 6: How many calls on average (weeknight and weekend)?

Gov’t Response 6: 1-2 calls a week during the weeknights and 1 call typically during the weekend per month. They are very sporadic. Again, the government will handle on-call services unless there is an emergency.

Question 7: Can you advise how often they are called back in as well?

Gov’t Response 7: They are not actually called in, they are called via telephone for clinical advice by the inpatient staff physicians, only in emergency situations.

Question 8: How many other Neurologists are on staff and what additional support staff will they be working with? (RN’s, Mid-Levels, other physicians?)

Gov’t Response 8: There are 4 Neurologist, 2 RNs and 1 EEG Tech Question 9: Will the government consider the past performance of a teaming partner as acceptable?

Gov’t Response 9: Past performance of a qualifying teaming arrangement may be considered.

Question 10: We have a drive-in candidate that can perform full time but is slightly costlier or 2 part-time physicians that would work 2 week shifts but would have to travel to NC. Does the VA have a preference as to which option is preferential?

Gov’t Response 10: We would prefer 1 full time candidate as this would be less problematic from a managerial and COR point of view. However, we wouldn’t be opposed to 2-part time neurologist. I would have to review the part time scenario if they are attempting to work split weeks such as 7 days on 7 days off while they rotate providers.
