About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) amendment for a CRNA services solicitation issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Maryland Health Care System. The solicitation (36C24525Q0294) seeks two (2) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, with a 6-month base contract and potential 5-month extension option. Key clarifications include requirements that CRNAs will work under anesthesiologist supervision, be on-call with 60-minute response times, rotate coverage, and undergo VA credentialing (45-60 days), with VA providing system access and standard training.

Significant details include preferred 2 years' experience for CRNAs, on-call shifts split among CRNAs and anesthesiologists, estimated 120 overtime hours, and minimal call-back frequency (2-4 times monthly). The VA will provide workstations, necessary equipment, and performance evaluations every 6 months. Contractors must provide malpractice insurance, and timesheets will be contractor-generated. The solicitation's response date was extended to 3/21/2025 at 0800 EDT, with lodging and expenses following GSA per diem guidelines. A bridge contract with Wander Staffing was previously awarded to maintain continuity of services during the solicitation process.
