This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ 36C24524Q0914 regarding wheelchair van transportation services for the VA Maryland Healthcare System. The document clarifies requirements for non-emergency wheelchair transportation services, with an anticipated volume of 40-50 trips daily during weekdays and 25-50% of that volume on weekends. Service will begin on January 1, 2025.

Key details include: this is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) set-aside with a firm-fixed price structure; services are curb-to-curb only with no special medical training required beyond licensed drivers; vehicles must meet Maryland standards; no multiple patient transports are allowed (one patient plus possible attendant only); service areas include Baltimore and surrounding counties with some rare trips to DC, West Virginia, and Virginia locations; pricing structure includes base trip rates (ranging from $77 for local trips to $540 for longer distances), mileage rates ($5.00), wait time ($20.00), and attendant fees ($50.00). The contract will be multiple-award, and the previous contract number was 36C24520D0003. Most trips occur Monday-Friday between 8am-6pm, with primary facilities including Perry Point, BRECC, Baltimore VA, and various CBOCs.
