The 50lb weather proof bags are a must

1. What specific quarterly preventive maintenance services are to be performed on the softener? Is this a verification that the softener regeneration cycles are working as expected? Elution studies required? Please provide guidance and documentation of most recent maintenance performed to understand time and personnel requirements.

Checking hardness, analyzing a months’ worth of data to ensure it is soft and making programming adjustments accordingly Analyzing water treatment records to make chem feed pump adjustments Cleaning chemical pumps/piping Following manufacture recommendations on softeners

1. Please provide an SDS and Technical Data sheet for City Water Supply phosphate chemical currently used, and estimated usage.

No phosphate in use

1. The Cooling Tower system does not have any Make/Model information, nor does it have any indication of monthly/annual makeup water usage. Please provide these numbers to be able to estimate chemical consumption.

I would assume Yates

1. Clarify type of Legionella testing required (Standard ISO 11731 Spread Plate? qPCR?)

VHA DIR 1061 is the guidance we use. Test would need to satisfy this directive.

1. What type of bag filter is used, and size of bag? Historical usage? Monthly/Weekly replacement?

Monthly, its literally a standard cloth type bag

1. How many chemical injection feed points are on the cooling tower controller panel? Typically 3 or 4.

CL-32

Biocide Foam agent Chlorine Tabs

1. I saw just now that on page 13 the solicitation that the “Vendor must treat the facility City Water supply with Phosphate to maintain a residual level of 1 -3 ppm.”

So that I can make a good estimate, can you tell me how much total water the facility uses each year? I thought that one of the guys said that practice was stopped?

facility water usage averages around 2.5 to 3 million gallons per month.
