Questions and Answers
1. Are you able to advise of the anticipated number of cars to be Valet parked per hour?
Varies daily, some days the hospital is very busy and other days are slower.
2. What are the anticipated number of hours per day Valet staff are required to be available?
Please reference SOW, section I. Normal Hours of Operation.
3. What are the actual daily volumes separated by morning and afternoon for the past 12 months? Please provide the monthly reports submitted by the current contractor.

4. Where does the valet podium/station need to be located? Please provide a map.

5. How many lanes are available for exclusive valet use? How many feet long are these lanes?

7. What other vehicles operate in and around the valet lanes?
All types of vehicles.
8. Which valet operating areas are provided with video surveillance and at least 24 hours of recorded history?
We have cameras that provide 24 hours of recorded history.
9. What is the procedure if the valet parking lot is full?
The parking garage is available.
10. Can valet place the podium within the VAMC lobby or vestibule during inclement weather (wet or excessively cold/hot) so patients can remain safe and comfortable? No
11. If we decide to install a booth or shelter, please provide a map indicating the allowed area and maximum footprint?

12. Can the VA include something similar to the following, which is included in most VAMC valet contracts:
a. “The Contractor may decline to park the following types of vehicles and shall instead direct the drivers of such vehicles to self-park in non-valet parking areas on the VA campus:
b. (a) Vehicles modified to accommodate a specific disability for the driver which cannot be operated without additional training.
c. (b) Vehicles which lack a functional seat belt or are otherwise unsafe to drive.
d. (c) Vehicles which do not have fully functioning doors, windows, or locks.”
No, the valet contractor will need to work with the VA Police if the car is unsafe, non-functional, or unsuitable.
13. Does the shuttle vehicle need to be ADA compliant with space for a wheelchair?
A wheelchair needs to be able to be folded up in the shuttle vehicle to be transported with the Veteran.
14. Will the VA provide a power source to charge the shuttle vehicle if it is electric?
A 120-volt outlet is available.
15. Please provide a map of the VAMC with building numbers and any desired route for shuttles to take?
Will provide
16. Will the VA provide space to store the shuttle vehicle when not in use?
Yes, but it will be a non-covered area.
17. Will the VA provide the PPD tests to contractor personnel?
No, we will not provide PPD tests.
18. Section F on pages 7 & 8 of the solicitation discusses the shuttle. Section F.1. mentions a vehicle/cart, while section F.2. mentions a small car or van. Can you clarify if the shuttle can be a cart or if it has to be a car or van?
We require a vehicle, this can be a cart, car, van as long as it meets the requirements outlined in the SOW, section F Shuttle Service.
