About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a request for quote for laundry and linen support services. The incumbent vendor is Stewart Distributors under contract number VA245-17-C-0172. The scope of work requires pick up and delivery of linens twice per week currently on Tuesdays and Thursdays, though a question is asked about changing this to pick up on Mondays and drop off on Thursdays or pick up on Tuesdays and drop off on Fridays to avoid government holidays. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center - Fisher House at 50 Irving Street, Washington, DC requires these laundry and linen support services and owns the linens to be laundered. The potential offeror will provide all labor, supervision, materials and equipment to accomplish the laundry and linen services through a fixed price contract awarded for a one year base period and four optional one year periods.

1. Who is the incumbent Vendor, along with contract number, and total contract value?

STEWART DISTRIBUTORS - VA245-17-C-0172 - Federal Procurement Data System - Next Generation (fpds.gov)

2. Question regarding the Scope of Work, specifically regarding No. 3 Pick Up and Scheduled Delivery, Notice ID 36C24523Q0349. I was wondering if there is any way to change the current pick-up and drop-off days from Tuesdays and Thursdays to either (1) picking up laundry on Monday and dropping them off on Thursday, or (2) picking up on Tuesday and dropping off on Friday.

Tuesday pick up and Friday drop off. Most Government holidays fall on Mondays; a Tuesday pick up would be preferred. The Government would expect Tuesdays pick up to be laundered and return on Friday.

3. Does the VA own the linens that are to be laundered?

Yes , Linens is own by the VA
