Questions for FMS Radio’s RFQ

1. Please confirm a 10 business day extension after receipt of answers to the questions below. No, it will be extended until Monday, August 22, 2022 at 9:00am EST.

2. Scope of Work references changing from federally approved VHF to UHF frequencies. Does the VA have their approved UHF R1 frequencies from VA Spectrum Management in DC? If so, can their specific TX and RX frequencies be provided? No

3. Scope of Work references programming existing VA Police APX7000 radios with new UHF R1 Frequency to all communications. The radios request later in the solicitation are referred to as DMR Tier 3 radios. The DMR Tier 3 radios internal technology and the APX7000 technology is not compatible, therefore no vendor can accomplish this requirement. Would the VA be willing to look at P25 technology to allow for interoperability? No

4. Scope of Work references a RF study upon completion. Can the VA be more specific about the results desired from said RF Study? Will the VA be issuing a MOD to improve RF coverage should it not meet the VA's standards? RF Study will be to determine coverage. No MOD will be issued, we just need the results.

5. Is AES encryption required? No

6. UHF DMR mobiles are only 40 Watts, not 45 Watts as required: UHF (450-520MHz), 45 WATTS, 512 CH, 128 ZONES.
