Caitlin E Hippensteel Contracting Officer Submitted Questions and Answers

RFQ 36C24520Q0248

Could you please tell me about any safety concerns anyone has had concerning these elevators?

Response: The elevators were load tested in October 2019. Beckley has NO written documentation that would indicate the elevators are unsafe.

Are all of these still under warranty and have any of them been down for long periods of time?

Response: The new Building 8 elevator WILL be under warranty after installation and acceptance of the work this summer 2020.

On the pricing pages, it has a space for “Unit Price” & “Amount”. Please define each.

Response: The unit price is a monthly price for preventative maintenance and service. The amount is the monthly price multiplied by 12 months.

The Cart Lift is on the equipment listed to be serviced but has been out of service for quite some time. Is this to remain on the list to be serviced?

Response: The cart lift has not been used as a Sterile Processing transportation unit in over a year. Yes, it is to remain on the list to be serviced.

When will the warranty service from the installing elevator company end on the new elevator being installed in Building 8?

Response: We typically require a one-year warranty on new equipment. Warranty work will be provided by Others (Manufacturer/Installer)

Please clarify (page 24) what happens when the $950,000 maximum ceiling is met under the contract?

Response: We will initiate internal processes to increase the maximum ceiling amount

It appears building # 8 is not a part of this solicitation. Was building 8 solicited on another advertisement or awarded to another contractor? If so, who is the incumbent and will the incumbent provide maintenance on building 8?

Response: Building 8 elevator WILL be included in this contract. Warranty work will be provided by Others. Once the warranty expires, PMs and regular maintenance will be performed as part of this contract.

What are the ages of the other elevators? Are they all outside of the warranty periods? Were they maintained in accordance with OEM.

Response: The elevators, with installation dates, capacity, types and drives are included in the solicitation documents.
