B.4 STATEMENT OF WORK

SCOPE OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR SCOPE CABINET
1. Background
The VA Philadelphia Medical Center requires two Brand Name or Equal scope cabinets to support tracking and proper drying for medical scopes handled by the Sterile Processing Service (SPS). The current scope cabinets in use are locked and controlled solely through a touchscreen interface. This presents a risk, as any damage or malfunction to the graphical user interface (GUI) could prevent access to the cabinet, resulting in issues with storing, drying, and securing scopes. As such, the VA Philadelphia Medical Center is seeking a system that can address this operational gap.
2. Project Scope

The endoscope cabinet system must be capable of drying and tracking processed surgical equipment and include a locking mechanism to ensure proper security. The system must also provide filtered air circulation into endoscopes. Each unit must meet or exceed the following technical specifications:
- The unit has timed drying and venting cycles
- The unit must include a drying and tracking unit, fan ventilation unit, filter and tubes, cabinet security lock, and a minimum 10-inch touchscreen.

NOTE: Must meet or exceed a scope hanging length of 78 inches
- Utility requirements:
o Electrical Requirements for Drying Unit:
120 VAC, 60Hz, 15-amp standard duplex receptacle o Compressor air output:
Drying system should have a maximum PSI of 4 with an average between 2.5-3
PSI
For a 10 minute drying cycle the flow rate should be about 269 L, with a maximum flow rate of up to 45 liters per minute o Compressor decibels:
Should not exceed 62 dB with the drying unit closed o Electrical requirements for cabinet fan ventilation unit:
Voltage rating: 115 VAC Watts: 13.0 W Amps: 0.19 A
