About this file

This is an amendment to a combined synopsis/solicitation for worship pianist services issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 4, Erie VA Medical Center. The amendment primarily edits the subject line and includes questions and answers clarifying the service requirements.

The solicitation (36C24426Q0755) seeks a worship pianist to provide musical accompaniment and vocal support for religious services at the Erie VA Medical Center, located at 135 E. 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504. Services include two Protestant services on Sunday and one Catholic service on Wednesday. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued under FAR Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures, set aside 100% for small business concerns under NAICS code 711510 (Independent Artists, Writers, and Performers; size standard $9.0M). The Product/Service Code is R499 (Support: Professional Other). The contract will be issued as a Purchase Order (SF 1449) with a base year and four option years, with an anticipated period of performance from September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2031. The response deadline is July 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, with questions due by July 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST. Offerors must be registered in SAM prior to quote submission and maintain active registration through final payment. Key clarifications provided indicate that the contractor may employ one or two pianists; no religious affiliation is required, only musical competence, reliability, and respectful demeanor; and this replaces a previous contract (36C24419A0021) with no current incumbent or volunteers in place.

DESCRIPTION

1. I notice this is an RFQ for a Catholic and a Protestant pianist. Is this for one person, or can it be two (split)? The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the management, direction, and administration of its personnel. The organization requires musical competence and reliability, not adherence to any specific religious doctrine or personal faith practice.
