About this file

This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document clarifying requirements for a fire suppression system refill and testing contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The requirement involves refilling and hydrostatically testing clean agent fire suppression systems in two VA buildings. Building 11 contains a Pemhall PCA90150-E system requiring 135 lbs of HFC 227ea clean agent, with a cylinder tare weight of 110 lbs and gross weight of 247 lbs. Building 15 contains a Chemetron FM 200 system requiring 265 lbs of FM 200 agent, with an empty cylinder weight of 266.7 lbs and nitrogen charge of 7.1 lbs. Quoters must price refill and hydrostatic testing for both cylinders at the specified quantities; the scope is limited to system refill, reinstallation, and post-refill testing, with no repairs or component replacements included. Acceptance testing will be performed per NFPA 2001 (2025 edition). No site visit is available prior to quote submission, and no temporary fire watch or interim protection is required during system downtime. Access to both buildings must be coordinated and scheduled between the vendor and VA staff prior to work, with VA staff providing escort. The document does not specify pricing terms, response dates, or award information.
