About this file

This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) Amendment 0001 issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4 for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, seeking to procure a microscope for the Hematology Department of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service. The solicitation has been modified to reduce the quantity from four to one microscope, with specific instrument requirements including a frame with a 5-position nosepiece, LED illumination, various objective lenses (4x, 10x, 40x, 50x oil, and 100x oil), and additional technical specifications such as a tilting binocular observation tube and polarizers.

The RFQ (Solicitation Number 36C24425Q0772) was amended to extend the response deadline to August 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM EDT. The microscope must be a new, current model (no refurbished equipment), with installation to be provided by the vendor or a certified sub-contractor. Delivery is specified for the Pittsburgh VA Healthcare System, with coordination required through the Biomedical department. The solicitation emphasizes that the microscope is for daily patient slide reviews and quality assurance, and does not require connection to the VA internal network or involve IT security accreditation.
