About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a Tuckpointing project (Solicitation Number 36C24425B0017) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The RFI addresses multiple technical and procedural questions about the project, including bid submission requirements, work specifications, and project logistics. Key details include: emailed bid submissions are required with a bid bond valued at 20% of the contractor's bid price, multiple buildings/areas can be worked on concurrently, 4-10 hour workdays are permitted, and the project potentially may start in Spring 2026. Specific project requirements involve masonry restoration, roof anchor installations, and exterior sealant replacement. Contractors will need to coordinate closely with VA staff, follow temperature constraints for installation, and undergo inspections after completing each wall section. The VA will provide limited record drawings and a photo book of the construction site, and the project involves an EPDM roof with a current MULE HIDE warranty.
