STATEMENT OF WORK

VARIAN TPS ECLIPSE RAPID PLAN

RADIATION ONCOLOGY

CORPORAL MICHEAL J. CRESCENZ VA MEDICAL CENTER

3900 WOODLAND AVENUE PHILADELHIA, PA 19104

BACKGROUND:

The Radiation Oncology Department of the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) has a requirement for a product purchase with Varian to provide TPS Eclipse Rapid Plan Software to integrate with the Varian external beam planning software that we already have on our existing Varian Eclipse Calculation Workstations. The Radiation Oncology Service uses Varian Eclipse Calculation Workstations for treatment planning and Varian Aria record and verify system for documenting, scheduling, tracking, and logging of patient treatments as well as communication throughout the department. TPS Eclipse Rapid Plan Software is approved by Varian to work on their platform. The hospital of the University of Pennsylvania which is apart of the Radiation Oncology’s Affiliate Program also uses TPS Eclipse Rapid Plan Software so that The University of Pennsylvania’s Dosimetrists will be able to use. Radiation Oncology will be able to use the trained models from the University of Pennsylvania instead of having to create original plans. TPS Eclipse Rapid Plan automatically matches the CT SIM to plans for previous similar cases that have been saved as a model and used to calculate a plan for the patient which includes auto contouring and planning. TPS Eclipse Rapid Plan also calculates multiple plans in the background in which it tries to reduce the dose to individual organs so a Dosimetrist can easily see the effects of reducing dose to one organ on target coverage or dose to other organs. There is not really an equivalent software that works directly with the Varian Eclipse /Aria software.
