1. Is the current PC, the PC that will be replaced by the new touchscreen PC, in good working order and able to be accessed?
Yes it can be accessed in the current control cabinet
1. Will the current PC and new PC need to be running in parallel for any period of time?
I do not believe so, the screen (pc) could be powered down anytime and not affect the plant operation
1. Is the newly provided PC expected to be connected serially to each UPS or will the new PC connect to the UPS’s across the VA network?
There will be no connection to the VA network, control system is stand alone
1. Will the new touch screen PC be installed in the same control cabinet as the UPS’s? If not then where will it be installed and how will it connect back to the UPS’s in the cabinet?
There currently is no UPS installed. The UPS will be mounted on top of the control cabinet if feasable
1. Can a photo be provided of the control cabinet showing the current UPS’s and control PC?
Currently no UPS installed, Yes on the pic.
1. Are the any special concerns about the environment where the equipment will be installed such as excessive heat or moisture?
There is currently a fan that provides cooling air. No moisture issues present under normal circumstances
1. Are you able to provide a current wiring schematic, before the proposal due date?
There is a wiring diagram, but not an electronic version.
1. What are the current connector types on each UPS, for both the power feed to the UPSs and the UPS outputs? (L5-20, etc.)
Currently no UPS is installed, no UPS at any time, this will be the first
1. Will this installation of Wonderware be standalone and only run on the touch screen PC? Is there any expectation that this software would connect to anything other than the boiler system?
Installation is for boiler control only, no other connections
1. Will the new Wonderware be the same software release/version as the existing Wonderware?
I am not sure if a newer version exists
1. Will the existing Wonderware and TOP Server configuration be able to be exported from the existing PC and imported into the Wonderware and Topserver application on the new touchscreen PC?
I am unable to confidently answer that, the current screen has lost its touch input, but still displays the plant info.
1. Are there any external alerts or alarms currently configured in Wonderware? (SMS, dialer, email, etc.)
Not that I am aware of. We only use the system inhouse and do not receive any info from the system outside the plant. No dial in capability and no other alerts from the system, no network connections for transmitting that info.
1. Is TOP Server being used to interface Wonderware with the boiler control system application? Cannot answer that confidently, I believe so.
1. Is the boiler control system application something that the VA has written or is this application provided by the boiler manufacturer? If manufacturer-provided, can you supply manufacturer information?
I do not believe that a generic application exists, we do have back up disks from the control system cleaning that is performed twice annually. Operational data is saved to disk and then provided to the Coatesville boiler plant in case of computer crash
1. How does the new touchscreen PC physically connect to the boiler control system? (across the VA network, direct connect via serial port, etc) Direct connect
1. In the scope of work one of the tasks is: “Testing new computer as the secondary I/O server.” Is the “new computer” referenced here the new touch screen computer that we would be providing? If so then what and where is the primary I/O server?
Yes new one being provided. Primary in the control room located within about 10’ of the control cabinet.
The replacement screen outlined in the SOW is the closest one available, according to some research performed by outside entities, to the current one installed. Minor cabinet cutting needed for the install of the screen.
