Question Answer
Please confirm the set aside for this solicitation.
It is listed in the solicitation; the limitations on subcontracting do apply.
Is the intention to have a confined space entry team to clean the tanks for ones that are of higher sulfur content?
Yes, but that is an internal remediation that is not spelled out in the WBVAMC SOW
What about costs associated with tanks that need potential piping rework to make entry into for cleaning?
This would be an unknown and would need to be addressed if it arises. No work will be completed without a contract modification.
Do the USTS have manway provisions for tank entry if needed? No
Do we assume tanks at 90% capacity for the additive and biocide treat rations?
Yes and a credit should be given for tanks that are not at
90% when treated.
Can fuel polishing be performed in lieu of personnel entry into high sulfur content tanks prior to remediation. This would allow the tanks to be essentially cleaned prior to remediation and delivery of new fuel without putting personnel into the tank. Yes.
