SC) Single pole trapeze that will work with existing ceiling lifts
Response) We do not understand this, our beds have independent trapezes that work independent of a ceiling lift. A ceiling lift system is independent of a bed, and it would be unfair to preclude us from a quote based upon this when our beds have existing trapeze systems. The trapeze that comes with your bed has to not hinder our current lift equipment being used (single pole trapeze should be at the head of the bed) as in previous purchase of beds that were problematic because of the trapeze set-up hindered our current ceiling lifts.
SC) Integrated Scale - we do not have this. The vast majority of LTC beds do not carry this function, and we feel this is again a brand/bed specific requirement that unfairly limits competing products for a relatively minor bell & whistle when our beds meets all other requirements. It is not industry common to have this spec. Will you accept a quote without this? If not can you please explain why? The Product must conform to the SOW. Beds we currently will be trading in have integrated scales already…we want to continue that practice in our Long Term Care setting. Getting patients out of bed to weigh them can cause increased patient falls as well as staff injuries. It is our current nursing practice to have a bed with an integrated scale as noted in our Statement of Work which identifies the minimum requirements for the bed.
SC) CPR Release. Please explain what you are looking for exactly here, this is not a common LTC functionality. Our current beds for trade in have this functionality and again it is in our current nursing practice at our Long Term Care facility for the bed to have this capability. In order to initiate CPR when a patient is in need the CPR release feature expediates initiating CPR in an efficient manner which may increase the chances for the patient’s survival.
The VA is not accepting any more questions for this procurement.
