About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation 36C24226R0131 regarding sidewalk replacement work throughout Lyons Campus.

The project involves the removal and replacement of approximately 12,180 square feet of sidewalk, with additional areas identified during a site visit marked with yellow paint. Work includes demolition of existing 6-inch-thick concrete sidewalks, installation of a ¾-inch clean gravel base at 4 inches deep, and placement of new concrete with a standard brush finish. The scope includes replacement of 20 ADA detectable warning pads (wet-set, 2x4, red in color) and approximately 1,500 square feet of curb work per line item 6 of the Statement of Work. Joint spacing must match existing spacing, and testing and finishing are not required. Workers require OSHA 10-hour certification while supervisors require OSHA 30-hour certification. The contractor must provide a single Site Superintendent or Safety Officer (one person may hold multiple roles), with a contractor license serving as the required credential for authorization as a concrete installer. Materials requiring submittals include #6 wire mesh (wet-set, 2x4, red). Work may be phased in up to three phases by location. A bid bond is required for this construction project, with performance and payment bonds required after award. Technical evaluation factors require contractors to demonstrate understanding of the work and relevant experience, with project supervisor resumes being sufficient for qualification documentation. A staging area will be provided by the government after contract award.
