Text version
1. How many doors total will the access control system be supporting?
Manhattan 29 doors (18 No Keypad readers and 11 Keypad readers)
2. Will there be a need to add additional doors soon?
Yes, depending on the Government requirements
3. In the solicitation it is requesting a system that produces PIV credentials "facility to produce PIV credentials for authorized staff” Please elaborate further on the production of PIV’s. Are you looking for a physical access control system that allocates door access AND creates PIV’s?
No, the Government will issue the PIV credentials for authorized staff.
4. Are there any future plans to consolidate multiple locations into a central PAC’s system that can be centralized and managed from 1 location per HSPD-12 Directive?
Yes, the net-worth can combine all three facilities, and can be controlled by one administer.
5. Is this deployment mandated by FICAM as directed by VACO? The specifications only mention PIV cards. I presume we would need Version 8 for the new credentials.
Yes, this is mandated by the directive HSPD -12 Agencies that proceed with the acquisition of products and services for the implementation of HSPD-12 through acquisition vehicles other than GSA IT Schedule 70 must ensure that only approved products/services from the Approved Product List are acquired and incorporated into system solutions and ensure compliance with other federal standards and requirements for systems used to implement HSPD-12.
To ensure government-wide interoperability, this applies for the lifecycle of the products, services, and/or systems being acquired.
6. Will the installation engineers need to hold the CSEIP Certification? Certification program called CSEIP, for advanced training for integration engineers on how to set up and test enterprise physical access control systems (E- PACS) put forth by the U.S federal government.
Yes, all venders must be certified on how to set up and test enterprise physical access control systems (E- PACS) put forth by the U.S federal government.
7. Are you wanting to salvage the database from the non-operational Hirsch system?
Yes, current Hirsch needs replacement.
8. The bid calls for 8 Alarm inputs on the main board to be configured as supervised alarms or standard alarms, however I wanted to know if these alarms are for door contacts tied to non-card reader doors?
No, intrusion alarms will be tied into access control they are two separate alarms systems. Access control system will use magnetic lock or electric strikes.
9. Also, if tallying up the reader counts it appears the site is calling for 29 doors total (18 No Keypad readers and 11 Keypad readers) however when reviewing the door controller components, it appears that the site is requesting 24 door controllers. Would you be able to advise on the discrepancy here?
Accelerator supports 16 readers (with optional Eight Reader Expansion Plug-in PCB) and has 24 inputs (Expandable to 72), 1 tamper alarm and 17 relay outputs (Expandable to 65). The plug-in eight reader expansion board adds capability for eight more readers and the associated supervised door sensor and bypass inputs. Each 12V reader may draw 350mA from the PWR pin of the reader connector. The interface board and expansion board each supply 5V power for special readers and accessory equipment. The 5V power is highly filtered and separate from the logic power. Each of the 8 alarm inputs on the main board may be configured as supervised alarms (requiring termination resistors), or standard alarms (requiring plain electrical contacts).
