DESCRIPTION

The objective of this action is the procurement for a Cost Per Reportable Result Contract for a Beckman Coulter Navios Tetra 10 color Flow Cytometer System
This is an Emergency Procurement, originally requesting service put in for competing a new base plus, four-year contract as the current one is due to expire 5/13/2023. The current equipment has started failing on a weekly basis and although the current contractor is fulfilling its duties of coming and making repairs as they occur, equipment seems to be failing on a regular basis. The government wants to terminate the existing contract and initiate a new contract with a Base plus three (3) as there were no issues with the equipment in the first four years of the original contract. Beckman Coulter is the only manufacturer that meets the VA’s requirements currently. The VA has currently been sending out the tests which have been an undue cost and soliciting additional quotes at this time would extend this cost until such a time that quotes could be received and evaluated would be an additional cost and additional time diagnosing patients.
