1) The RFP item 4 indicates that a floor plan is included; however, no floor plan was provided. Could a floor plan be provided?
· Response: Floor plan was submitted in FORCE.
2) During the Site Walk it was noted that some existing units were not located tight to the wall behind or adjacent to the Patient Care Unit. It is assumed that the location of the floor drain penetration dictated the unit be moved away from the wall and filler/scribe material was installed. Please confirm that relocating any floor drains is not included in this scope of work.
· Response: Relocation of floor drains will not be required, however any visible gap created while replacing/reinstalling the unit must be sealed/caulked.
3) During the Site walk it was noted that the existing units flush valve and flush piping were modified to accommodate the location of the supply piping rough in location. Please confirm that similar modifications are acceptable for the new units and modification of the supply piping located within the wall is not included in this scope of work.
· Response: Modification to supply piping is not required and similar modification will be acceptable if required.
4) During the Site Wall it was noted that there is no dedicated supply water rough in for the dialysis box. Water supply for the dialysis box was supplied through a tee/valve on the flush water supply piping. Please confirm that this installation is acceptable for the new units and installation of new dedicated dialysis box supply piping is not included in this scope of work.
· Response: Yes, this installation is acceptable for the new units and new supply piping is not required.
5) It is anticipated that no drywall repair or extremely minimal wall repairs will be required. In the event that minor paint touch up is required, will the contractor be allowed to touch up at the repair or be required to paint the entire wall?
· Response: Any damage (minor/major) to existing supply/plumbing system/drywall created by Contractor will need to be repaired at no extra cost to VA. If required, touch-up paint will be permitted however it will require prior coordination and approval from VA to match with the existing paint on the wall.
6) Will the facility provide a storage area for the Patient Care Units during construction? If not, will a space be provided for a storage container to be placed on the property?
· Response: No VA storage is available. The contractor’s storage container is permitted to be placed at VA East Orange Campus which will require coordination and pre-approval from VA Police/maintenance staff prior to delivery.
7) The Wage Determination provided (dated 1/27/2023) indicates labor rates for various categories along with fringes. In some cases, the fringe is clearly identified as a % and other cases it is not clear. Please clarify if the fringe numbers are $ rates per hour or % rates per hour when the fringes are not noted as %.
· Response: Fringe benefits listed as percentage with % should be calculated as a percentage, any other fringe benefit should be calculated as a dollar value.
8) Can we request the inclusion of pluming schematics for the ICU in the rfi amendment?
· Response: Schematics are not available image1.png
