Responses to Requests for Information for Solicitation No. 36C24222B011 Repair Condensate & Steam Lines Project no. 561A4-18-10
Question 38: RFI response no.11 states that 'excavation is unclassified and no payment will be made for rock excavation'. ----- In reference to this response requesting the agency to issue soil boring reports at all the locations of the new pump stations as this requires massive excavation up to 20' feet below the grade. If soil boring reports are not available, then rock excavation work should be paid by a separate unit price item. This way all the contractors are bidding on the same information. As of now no one knows how much will be the rock excavation, unless all the pump station sites are excavated.
Response 38: Please include 20 cubic yards @ $450.00 Cubic Yard in the bid. A credit will be given for unused units and a modification will be given for excess of 10 yards.
Question 39: Can you please confirm if this project is taxable?
Response 39: The solicitation requires all taxes to be included in the bid. The contractor is responsible for payment of all taxes and the government will not provide a tax exemption certificate or any other information resulting in a tax exemption. If the contractor seeks and receives a tax exemption after award of the contract for any materials or supplies purchased by the contractor to perform any work required under the contract, any such tax savings must be returned to the government.
