X X The purpose of this solicitation amendment is to respond to RFI's submitted regarding the SOW for work to be performed. The questions and responses are provided on page 2 of this document.
In order to allow for individuals to account for these changes, the close date of the solicitation has been extended to Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 4pm EST.
New RFI's will not be accepted after Thursday May 31, 2018 at 12pm Noon.
ANTHONY MURRAY
CONTRACTING OFFICER
Contractors who are interested in the solicitation posed the following questions.
RFI 1:
WE are interested in bidding this. Can you please tell me how to acquire plans and specs?
RFI 1 Response: We do not have plans of specs for this currently available.
RFI 2: (with responses) A.2 states “Solid Products”…..A.5 mentions liquid products for boilers. I believe there is currently a mix for the boiler especially the amine is liquid. Please clarify solid vs liquid products. Solid for everyday use. Liquid and powder chemicals to layup boiler wet and to treat quickly condensate and boilers.
A.5 states….. liquid Amine as needed to help protect the condensate return lines and maintain return pH 7.5 - 8.0…. We were told during a walkthrough that the amine is used only to treat the steam lines in the boiler plant and does not feed to the steam lines to the building. For purposes of this bid are we treating just the steam lines in the boiler plant as is currently done or expanding the treatment now to the building? Currently Amine is to treat the chiller plant steam to the heat exchangers.
Who owns the current dry product feeders? MIS of America
Who owns the existing cooling tower blowdown/chemical feed controllers? MIS of America
RFI 3:
Scope of Work Section A there is a conflict of information.
Under item 2. – it states all tower and boiler chemicals shall be solid products.
Then under Item 5. – it discusses the need for boiler de-scaler, liquid amine, liquid alkalinity booster, and liquid phosphate.
Please clarify which type of chemicals will be required.
RFI 3 Response: The need for de-scaler, liquid amine, liquid alkalinity booster, and liquid phosphate is to layup a boiler when not in use and to bring a boiler quickly back into the proper chemical range if the said boiler fall out of chemistry parameters.
Also… bromine tablets are needed for tower water treatment for quick disinfection and/or for use in the brominators.
