About this file
This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source a contract requirement issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The VA intends to negotiate a sole source contract with IRADIMED Corporation for an MRI-compatible physiological monitoring system and related equipment for the VA Boston Healthcare System's Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders (TRACTS). The requirement includes an IRADIMED 3880 MRI Standard Monitor System with ecQ-TEK technology that monitors ECG, SpO2, NIBP, and CO2; an MRI Monitor Remote System with tablet, base, and recorder; an IRADIMED roll stand; a flexible mounting adapter; two-day training for TRACTS staff; and two one-year Premium Maintenance Agreements. The system provides continuous monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate and rhythm, blood oxygenation, respiration, and end-tidal CO2 during MRI procedures, which the VA identifies as critical for participant safety and physiological data collection during controlled respiratory gas challenge studies. The VA determined that no alternative commercially available system provides the same combination of MRI compatibility, integrated physiological monitoring, operational efficiency, and ease of implementation. The procurement authority is FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source). The NAICS code is 339112, with a size standard of 1,000 employees and PSC/FSC code AJ11. Parties may submit responses showing clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government by the date and time specified in the SAM.gov notice. No solicitation will be posted to SAM.gov Contracting Opportunities.

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement
This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a solicitation. This is not a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with IRADIMED Corporation.
Description:
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with IRADIMED Corporation for an MRI-compatible physiological monitoring system and accessories for the VA Boston Healthcare System / Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders (TRACTS).
The requirement includes an MRI Standard Monitor System with ecQ-TEK (ECG, SpO2, NIBP, and CO2), an MRI Monitor Remote System with tablet, base and recorder, an IRADIMED roll stand, a flexible mounting adapter, two-day training for TRACTS staff, and two one-year Premium Maintenance Agreements.
The IRADIMED 3880 provides continuous monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate and rhythm (ECG), blood oxygenation (SpO2), respiration, and end-tidal CO2 during MRI procedures. These capabilities are critical for participant safety and physiological data collection during studies involving controlled respiratory gas challenges. No alternative commercially available system was identified that provides the same combination of MRI compatibility, integrated physiological monitoring, operational efficiency, and ease of implementation required by the Government.
Therefore, it is the Government's belief that IRADIMED Corporation is the only responsible source capable of meeting this requirement.
Since the intent is to procure this requirement on a sole source basis, this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers and no solicitation will be posted to Contracting Opportunities on SAM.gov.
The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The NAICS is 339112. The size standard is 1,000 employees. The PSC/FSC is AJ11.
Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received by the date and time specified in the SAM.gov notice. No telephonic inquiries will be accepted. All responses must be submitted to the Contracting Officer identified in the SAM.gov notice.
