About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 0001, issued 02/17/2026) addressing industry inquiries regarding solicitation 36C24126Q0184 for surgical instrument preventative maintenance, repair, and inspection services at VA Connecticut Healthcare System facilities.

The amendment provides clarification on four key operational aspects: (1) current inventory by campus is available in attached listings, though noted as non-exhaustive; (2) repair history shows current service levels of two onsite visits monthly at West Haven VAMC and one monthly visit at Newington VAMC; (3) scopes and probes are currently sent offsite for repair through separate contracts and are excluded from this contract's scope; and (4) no blanket condemnation or replace-only policies exist, with manufacturers' instructions for use (IFU) governing replacement intervals. Additionally, loaners are not provided for offsite repairs, and the government has established a target turnaround time of four weeks for repair completion.
