CADD SOLIS AMBULATOR INFUSION PUMPS
1. Description of work to be performed – The Anesthesiology Service has been using the CADD Solis Ambulator Infusion pumps since 2013. They are in each OR at both the West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain campuses. They are an essential part of the anesthesiology support given to patients since they deliver infusions for analgesia, chemotherapy, hydration, antibiotics, immune globulin, and TPN. Each pump can be programmed with a protocol configuration consisting of a therapy, qualifier, and drug information.
1. Location of work – These pumps will replace pumps in each OR at the West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain campuses. Those pumps have reached end of life and must be replaced to ensure proper performance.
1. Period of performance – The pumps that are being used by the anesthesiology service are at end of life. The new pumps will be used upon receipt of the equipment and are projected to be in use until they reach end of life or until the service determines that a new model will more effectively deliver the infusion.
1. Deliverable schedule – The purchase includes a clinical implementation service that will provide us with a full program designed to set up and establish the equipment upon delivery. The Implementation Team includes nurses, pharmacists, and sales specialists who support and assist the facility purchasing the equipment. Three education blocks of 8 hours each are provided for super user training and/or staff clinician training. The hours may also include onsite support if needed.
1. Applicable performance standards
4. Reliability
4. Flexibility to modify and create Protocols as needed
4. Simple three step process for programming the CADD® Solis pump at the point of care
4. Safety Ability to verify the drug and pump parameters before programming the pump
4. Reporting capability at the clinician’s fingertips
4. Helps minimize programming errors with Protocol Library system on the pump
1. Any special requirements (e.g. security clearances, travel, special knowledge) - None
