B.2 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS FOR VHA EMPLOYEES

REQUIREMENTS

The goal of Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is to create clear, sustainable and repeatable training practices, both internally and externally, by utilizing the training products listed in this document. To date, approximately 3,689 VHA Supervisors have been trained on the ‘Crucial Conversations’ and ‘Crucial Accountability’ curriculum.

These training products shall focus on various techniques regarding how to conduct crucial conversations in a positive space, particularly when the topics of discussion are intense and emotionally charged discussions. Historically, as evidenced by VHA’s previous use of various training products, the outcomes will provide valuable tools for VHA’s employees to conduct conversations with Veterans and other internal VHA employees. As such, the Employee Education System’s (EES) objective is to purchase training courses, and thereafter assist the field offices in distributing these courses throughout the VHA.

Note, VHA has trained individual(s) to facilitate the courses, thereby eliminating the need to use outside instructors.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:

At the request of the COR, Certified Trainer (CT) Support will be done virtually or on site. All other work will be conducted by trained VHA employees and via virtual means.
