Bladder Scanners RFP, Questions and Answers

36C10G24R0015

1. Will you evaluate AI specific to bladder scanning? AI is not a Salient Characteristic in the solicitation. Proposals must at least meet the Salient Characteristics in the solicitation.

Characteristics exceeding the requirements will be evaluated accordingly.

2. Is a printer mandatory? Yes, See SC #10. If so for what purpose? The printer is required for the end user.

3. Can documentation be done electronically? The requirement is for a unit that does not connect to the VA network. If referring to proposal submittal, proposals should be submitted in accordance with the instructions in the solicitation.

4. Is a cart mandatory or are other form factors acceptable (clam shaped laptop, iPhone etc.) The Offeror must indicate that each product being offered is an equal product to the Verathon Bladder scanners; CLIN 0001 includes a premium workstation. For each equal product, the Offeror must include a description reflecting the salient characteristics (SCs) and level of quality that will satisfy the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics of the equal product(s) specified in the solicitation.

5. Is there consideration for bladder scanner to have additional functionality for point of care ultrasound capabilities (lung AI, cardiac AI and procedural u/s for example). Under normal routine use a Physician/healthcare provider typically would not be the end user for this product. Therefore, diagnostics would be out of scope for the typical end user.
