St. Petersburg Cooling Tower

Questions and Answers – March 7, 2023

1. During the site visit. It was mentioned that the VBA's wanted to take possession of the old parts ( Motor & Fan ), Is this correct?

Yes

2. If so, will the VBA have something available to load the fan & motor on to next to site? To avoid remobilization of the Crane.

Yes, we have flat rolling carts for the equipment

3. During the site visit. It was mentioned that this would be weekend work, the SOW has it

Monday - Sunday 0600 to 1800. Can this be done during regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 0700 to 1800 to keep the cost down?

Yes this can be accomplished as stated in SOW

4. In the SOW, it is not mentioned to balance the New Fan and Motor. It is always our recommendation to have everything laser balance, to avoid having a new motor go bad that has not being balance correctly on site. Does the VBA want to have everything laser balanced? Or installed without being balanced?

We prefer the fan to be balanced as part of the installation using whatever the industry standard would be to balance a cooling tower fan.

5. Are you replacing just the motor and re-using the shaft, fan and bearing?

we are replacing the Motor, shaft, bearings and fan with new OEM parts.

6. Please clarify the project scope. During the walk thru Monday, it was discussed that only the fan motor was to be replaced. The solicitation states remove and replace, motor, shaft and fan.

Replace the motor, shaft, bearings and fan with new OEM Parts

7. Please advise if a motor manufactured by the Evapco cooling tower vendor is acceptable, w/out Evapco name brand

It does not have to be an Evapco name brand motor : Replacement parts catalog states the following” Totally enclosed ball bearing type motors with 1.15 service factor specifically designed for evaporative cooling applications. All motors equipped with double sealed non-relubricable bearings, double dip and bake windings and cast iron frames with corro-duty paint

8. Is it possible to obtain the list of attendees for the recently held site visit for this project?

Yes see attached

9. The contract has a value of $25,000, but the cost of the parts alone exceeds $27,000.

Additionally, does the estimated cost of labor need to be considered in determining whether the contract price will be increased to cover the additional cost of both parts and labor? In other words, will the overall cost of the contract be adjusted to reflect the combined cost of parts and labor, which exceeds the original contract value of $25,000?

Thank you.

Please provide a cost breakdown to support your proposal. Your cost breakdown will include all costs that result in your overall proposal price.

10. Are there any type of drawings or specs you can provide?

See attached

11. Can you provide the Site Visit attendees?
