QUESTION: P. 5. 5.a. and 6.b. VA Directive 6371 was established as the guideline for secure document destruction and does not mention a particle size for either interim or final destruction. 1x5mm is generally reserved for classified material and cannot be achieved onsite by a typical mobile shredding truck. For CUI, the 1x5mm particle size is achieved at a pulp mill through the de-inking and pulping process. This meets the two-step process described in CUI Notice 2019-03. Since shredding companies do generally not own a pulp mill, can this paragraph please be revised to follow the wording in VA Directive 6371, with the NARA CUI Notice two-step process noted as guidance for achieving 1x5mm during the final destruction accomplished by the paper mill?

ANSWER: P.2.5.a. The contractor shall arrive with equipment capable of picking up, loading, and on-Site destruction shredding bins at the identified location provided in Section 2.0. Contractor’s owned and operated equipment shall produce crosscut shred particles not larger than 1 mm x 5 mm or pulverize/disintegrate paper materials using disintegrator devices equipped with 3/32-inch security screen.

QUESTION: P. 11, 10. In general recycling facilities are not certified by NAID unless they are also a shredding company, and pulp mills are not certified by NAID. Will an agreement for responsible disposal with the recycling be sufficient documentation?

ANSWER: P.10.10. Contractor shall ensure personally-identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive temporary records are handled in a secure manner. At a minimum, this contract shall require documentation that any contractor who will handle the records until final destruction is completed, is bonded, insured, National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) certified for paper/printed media destruction and can provide reasonable physical safeguards for the data throughout the destruction process

QUESTION: P. 43, E2. Can the past performance examples be in a separate document from the technical experience document? Or can the latter be extended to three pages?

ANSWER: The past performance information can be provided in a separate document with the quote.

QUESTION: Is there a current contract for the work being solicited? If so, please provide the contract number and the annual contract amount.

ANSWER: See contract 36C10E20F0060 via: FPDS-NG ezSearch

QUESTION: What is the volume number of paper that needs to be shred?

ANSWER: Refer to RFQ 36C10E23Q0055, Section B.2 - Statement of Work.

QUESTION: what size container is necessary to hold paper?

ANSWER: Refer to RFQ 36C10E23Q0055, Section B.2 - Statement of Work.
