Q1. No scan speed indicated for the color devices. Would this be 80 ipm as is the BW devices?

A1. See answer A2 below.

Q2. Would 73 ipm suffice for scan speed?

A2. Yes.

Q3. Do the scanners require the ability to scan both sides of the page in a single pass?

A3. Yes Q4. The bands listed reflect total copies. However, the first 5 devices are color. Can you provide bands for BW & Color?

A4. As the Louisville Regional Office has not previously had color capable copiers, it is not possible to estimate how many of the copies made with the color capable machines will be black and white and how many will be color.

Q5. Will the VA accept units with a 250GB HDD?

A5. Yes.

Q6. Will the VA please confirm they are requesting BOTH a touchscreen and external keyboard for all units?

A6. Yes, both of them please.

Q7. In accordance with OPAL (VA) under FAR Part 25, Foreign Acquisition, purchases by Ordering Activities are restricted to either U.S.-made or designated country end products. TAA products, along with CAC/PIV technology provide the most secure environment when operating at a Federal facility. Please confirm that this is a requirement.

A7. Yes, the ability for the printer to authenticate using a PIV card is a requirement.

Q8. Please confirm that equipment must be NEW. Used, re-manufactured, or refurbished will not be accepted.

A8. Yes, the equipment must be new.

Q9. Can the VA provide historical volume data from the current devices?

A9. Historical data is not readily available. Additionally, historical data is not useful in projecting future use as the VA continues to move to a more paperless environment.

Q10. For the color multi-function devices can the VA provide what is the b&w / color split for each device per month?

A10. See the answer to question four (4).

Q11. In section 4.1 delivery and installation can the VA clarify what is meant by the contractor is required to store devices for up to 60 days?

A11. In the event delivery and installation is delayed the contractor shall have the capability of staging/storing the required equipment up to 60 days.

Q12. In section 4.2 relocation can the VA confirm that they are willing to pay for the time for the contractor’s technical representative to supervise the additional copier moves after the one move per 12-month calendar has already been performed?

A12. Yes.

Q13. For section 4.2 relocation will the VA be willing to pay for any devices that need to be moved from one building or location to another?

A13. Yes, the contractor will be fully compensated for any additional services required beyond one move per 12-month calendar year.

Q14. For the color devices that are being requested will the VA accept an output speed of 32 ppm b&w and color?

A14. Yes.
