About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solution for Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) 09. The RFI seeks information from vendors about their technical expertise and capabilities to implement an RFID system for locating and tracking nonexpendable equipment, including hardware, software, firmware, and scanning systems. The RFI is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), with a requirement that contractors cannot pay more than 50 percent of the contract amount to non-SDVOSB firms.
Vendors are required to submit a detailed 10-page response by 2:00 PM EST on April 15, 2025, via email to specified VA contracting personnel. The response must include company information, technical expertise with RFID solutions, an estimated equipment list with labor categories, and confirmation of the company's ability to meet SDVOSB requirements. The RFI emphasizes that this is for information gathering only, with no guarantee of future contract award, and respondents will not be compensated for their submissions. The information collected may be used by VA to develop an acquisition strategy and Performance Work Statement for a potential future procurement.
