1.0 BACKGROUND

This Statement of Work (SOW) is for the purchase of Radio Frequency (RF) power sensors for use in the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) transmitter microwave assembly. This is required for accurate RF power monitoring and measurement to reduce facility outage time and diagnosing problems in the high voltage network. The RF power sensor shall measure RF power and provide a pulse profile of the TDWR transmitter. The TDWR provides runway specific real-time weather product information. It is a safety and efficiency related operational part of the National Airspace System (NAS). This purchase is part of the TDWR Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) as mandated by congress through the Joint Resource Council (JRC). The RF power sensor is a commercially available item.

2.0 SCOPE

The Contractor shall have the following specifications for the RF power sensor:

a) Characteristics must be the following:

SPECIFICATION OPERATING PARAMETER

1. RF Frequency Range 50 MHz to 6 GHz

2. Sampling Method Real-time

3. Continuous Sampling Rate 100 MHz

4. RF Input connector Type N, 50 Ohms

5. VSWR < 1.30

6. Measurement type Pulsed and CW. Peak and average power.

7. Average Dynamic Range -60 to +20 dBm

8. Pulsed Dynamic Range -50 to +20 dBm

9. Maximum Input greater than or equal to +30 dBm peak power for a 1 µs pulse +23 dBm average power for CW

10. Fault Indicator LED indicator on sensor

11. Triggering Parameters Internal, external, TTL, additional sensor

Range of -38 to +20 dBm Placement on positive or negative slope Delay +/- 10 ns to 1 s

12. Rise time for measurement < 4 ns

13. Minimum time resolution for measurement 100 ps Single sweep: 10 ns

14. Minimum Pulse Width 10 ns with high video bandwidth

15. Maximum Pulse Width At least 3 µs with high video bandwidth

16. Maximum Pulse Repetition

(PRF) Rate 50 MHz

17. Bandwidth Video: 195 MHz Single sweep: 35 MHz

18. Acquisition speed >100,000 triggered readings per second At least 1000 measurements per second

19. Interface USB 2.0 high speed, high power device

20. Mechanical Complies with MIL-STD-28800F (Class 3)

b) A locking 2.0 USB cable and case shall be provided.

c) Calibration software available without additional charge.

d) Application software and software updates without additional charge.

e) National Instruments LabView device drivers support without additional charge.

f) Shall support Windows 10 and 64-bit Red Hat Linux.

3.0 CONTRACTOR TASKING/REQUIREMENTS

The contractor shall deliver 58 RF power sensors within 12 months After Receipt of Order

(ARO).

The contractor shall provide standard warranty from the time the last RF power sensor unit is accepted.

4.0 SCHEDULE

The contractor shall deliver the items specified in section 3.0 according to a schedule below or one agreed upon between the contractor and FAA.

4.1 PAYMENT

The contractor shall be paid after FAA acceptance of each RF power sensor delivered.

5.0 DELIVERABLES

The contractor shall deliver the items mentioned in Section 2.0 Scope and any documentation as necessary for long-term support.

a) All items shall be delivered Freight On Board (FOB) Destination. This means the contractor is responsible and shall pay for shipping and delivery to the FAA.

b) All items shall be delivered to:

Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) 6500 S. MacArthur Blvd.
