2 93001295-01 EG REIA Control Cabinet Assembly 1

1. This sources sought is for market research in order for FAA Acquisition Team to determine procurement approach for the purchase of two (2) remote start/status kits, providing the Orlando Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) an upgraded control interface for the ALSF engine generator (EG) equipment in the field. The FAA will likely seek to fulfill this requirement with priority consideration to socio-economic disadvantaged companies and with a competitive opportunity. The procurement approach will be based on results of this market survey. This project requirement pertains to Runway 17R & 35L ALSF-II facilities in the field at the Orlando International Airport, Orlando, FL. The approach light systems supports the CAT II/III operations on the runway.

2. Each of the two E/G Remote Start/Status Kits consist of the following:

a. One Remote Equipment Interface Assembly (REIA). This is a wall mounted electronics enclosure containing the equipment required to interface with the automatic transfer switch (ATS), and to communicate with the control panel mounted at the ATCT. The connection between the REIA and the ATS allows the engine to be remotely start and stop, and to have the status of the utility power, emergency power, and the ATS position monitored at the ATCT.

b. One Remote Control Panel (RCP). This control panel is mounted in the ATCT cab console so the air traffic controllers can start and stop the EG from the ATCT. It also provides a visual status indication of the power sources available and the power selected by the ATS. This control and status information is required for Category II/III operations.

3. Additional Information: The last two ALSF-II installations at the Orlando International Airport used these kits as well. It would be most efficient to standardize to one set of EG remote equipment simplifying maintenance, ATC personnel training, reduce the expense and amount of spare parts required, and minimizes downtime for repairs. New Bedford Panoramex Corporation (NBP) was the developer and manufacturer of the EG Remote Start/Status kits.

4. The FAA request companies both interested and capable of providing/performing the above requirement to provide the following information to email: Michael.Eadon@faa.gov by August 28, 2019, 4:00 p.m. EDT:

a. Company Name and Address:

b. POC Contact Information:

c. Current Registration in SAM (www.SAM.gov): Yes / No

d. DUNS#:

e. Business Socio-Economic Size/Status: Large, Small, SDVOSB, SBA 8(a), etc.

f. ____________________________ is both interested and capable of successfully fulfilling this requirement in it’s entirety within 30 – 60 – 90 calendar days after receipt of contract/award document.

5. This market research is considered voluntary and is without any agreement or expectation for reimbursement, compensation or any other benefit/advantage for participation efforts. The FAA may or may not provide additional or follow-up information pertaining to this requirement.
