About this file
This Salient Characteristics document details a training system requirement for the 341st Security Force Group (341 SFG). The 341 SFG seeks to procure 4 Wearable Gunshot Sound Simulation Training Systems designed for active shooter response training. The system must generate hyper-realistic gunshot sounds exceeding 120 dB without traditional speakers or expendables, and include specific components: a wearable sound generator, infrared laser-equipped rifle and pistol training weapons, noise-canceling ear protection, a portable power supply, and a storage/transport case.
The system's key capabilities include generating authentic sound levels, simulating gunshot sounds through innovative technology, operating without expendables like blank cartridges, enabling remote sound triggering from up to 100 feet by trainers/observers, and allowing user-triggered sound generation through tactile input on the laser-equipped training weapons. The primary goal is to create a high-stress, realistic training environment that enhances active shooter response preparedness for the 341 SFG.

341st SFG Wearable Gunshot Sound Simulation Training System Salient Characteristics
August 2025
1. Requirement: The 341st Security Force Group (341 SFG) requires a training system to simulate the auditory stimulus of gunshots, coordinated with input from remotes or training weapons, for use in active shooter response training. This system will enhance realism in training scenarios by providing realistic gunshot sounds to induce a high-stress training environment.
The 341 SFG requires a quantity of 4 systems meeting the specifications below in order to meet mission needs.
2. System Components: The system will include the following:
a. Wearable Sound Generator: A mobile, user-worn system capable of generating realistic gunshot sounds.
b. Rifle Training Weapon: An infrared laser-equipped rifle-style training weapon.
c. Pistol Training Weapon: An infrared laser-equipped pistol-style training weapon.
d. User Ear Protection: Noise-canceling ear protection for the system user.
e. Portable Power Supply: A sufficient portable power supply for all system components.
f. Storage and Transport Case: A durable case for effective storage and transport of all system components.
3. System Capabilities: The system must be capable of the following:
a. Authentic Sound Level: Generating simulated gunshot sounds exceeding 120 dB to create a realistic, high-stress environment.
b. Realistic Sound Generation: Simulating gunshot sounds without the use of traditional speaker systems to replicate pre-recorded audio.
c. Expendable-Free Operation: Simulating gunshot sounds without the use of expendables such as blank cartridges.
d. Remote Triggering: Ability for exercise trainers/observers to trigger the sound generation remotely from a minimum distance of 100 feet.
e. User Input Triggering: Ability for the user to trigger the sound generation with tactile input using the laser-equipped rifle and pistol training weapons.
