STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
FOR
Repair Boat Bay Heating System USCG Station Chicago
GENERAL
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking a qualified contractor to perform repairs on a heating system at USCG Station Chicago: 4001 E. 98th Street Chicago, Illinois. Station Chicago is a working Coast Guard unit and will remain in operation during the project.
Bidders are responsible for visiting the site to field verify existing conditions and determine actual dimensions and the nature of the work required. Failure to visit the site does not relinquish the bidder from determining the extent and scope of the work required and estimating the difficulty and cost to complete the project.
The USCG Station Chicago Engineering Petty Officer, CPO Richard Minadeo, will be the USCG’s Onsite Representative for this project.
Arrange pre-bid site visits to verify existing conditions by sending an email to: Richard.A.Minadeo@USCG.mil
BACKGROUND
The USCG Station Chicago boat bay (RPUID 11516) heating system provides heating for the main stations boat bay. The heating system is out of commission and is in need of repair. Repairs must be expedited to prevent damage due to frozen pipes when temperatures drop below freezing.
Known or suspected problems include:
· Vacuum pump blower assembly is grounded.
· Control relays are not working.
· One Burner Head Assembly is inoperable.
The vacuum pump blower assembly and control relays will likely need to be replaced in order to start the system and troubleshoot further. The burner head on one run of the heating system must be replaced for that run to operate.
Working at heights will be necessary to gain access to the system and effect repairs because parts of the system are installed near the ceiling, over 50 feet high. The floor is sloped at ~25 degrees which will further complicate the repairs.
UNIT VISIT: 12NOV2024 10:00AM CENTRAL
