About this file
This document is an engineering study by Quest/CDP Engineers focused on drainage infrastructure improvements for three ditches: Goetz Ditch, Tamarack Ditch, and Scherm Ditch. The study details existing conditions and proposes specific improvements to storm sewer systems across various segments. For Goetz Ditch, improvements include adding Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts (RCBC) of varying sizes ranging from 4-foot x 4-foot to 12-foot x 5-foot across multiple segments, with a total estimated project cost of $3,623,000. For Tamarack Ditch, proposed improvements include a diversion channel/detention basin and multiple RCBC installations across different segments, with a total estimated project cost of $4,370,000.
The study covers a 310-acre watershed, of which 224 acres are nearly completely developed, with the remaining 86 acres including the Heritage Park development. The proposed improvements aim to address capacity problems in the storm sewer system, with recommendations including a diversion channel/detention basin along the east side of the Bypass from Tamarack Road storm sewer to Goetz Ditch. The benefits of these improvements include mitigating increased discharges to Goetz Ditch and reducing discharges to Carter Road Ditch, Tamarack Ditch, and Goetz Ditch. The current infrastructure is significantly undersized, and the proposed modifications would help manage storm water more effectively across the studied areas.
