About this file

This document is a Notice of Intended Decision (PUR 7778) from the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind to enter into a purchase order for a single source award to Mobex, Inc. for the YakChat application. The purpose is to facilitate SMS and MMS messaging to and from Microsoft Teams users for fiscal year 2022-2023. The estimated dollar amount for this single source acquisition is not-to-exceed $24,000. Mobex, Inc. is the sole and only provider of this level of integrated text messaging technology in Microsoft Teams, and the agency has found no other application as user-friendly and focused on two-way communication between Teams users and their respective parties.

The justification for the single source acquisition is that Mobex, Inc., a Florida corporation, is the sole distributor and support provider for the YakChat application on a nationwide basis. No other source exists for the YakChat application, as it is the only provider of this level of integrated text messaging technology in Microsoft Teams.
