About this file

This Addendum No. 1 document issued by Howard County Public Schools Purchasing Department modifies the original bid solicitation (IFB No. 103.26.B4) for Mt. View Middle School Entrance Renovation, with proposals due November 10, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. The addendum addresses questions regarding project liquidity damages, existing roof warranty information, and incorporates substantive changes including replacement of furniture plan notes to clarify that storage pods are not required for existing furnishings, substitution of an illegible floor plan sheet with a corrected FP101 Floor Plan showing existing fire protection dated October 7, 2026, and addition of two new specification sections (Section 012100 Allowances and Section 012200 Unit Prices) along with a Preliminary Baseline Construction Schedule dated May 5, 2026. The project schedule establishes a 193-day construction timeline from March 17, 2027, through December 10, 2027, encompassing procurement, fabrication, delivery, demolition, rough-in work, finishes, and closeout activities, with substantial completion targeted for August 11, 2027.

The addendum establishes a General Allowance of $35,000 to be included in the base bid lump sum, which may be utilized for unforeseen conditions, code mandates, or owner revisions with verbal approval and written direction from the owner or construction manager. The document includes a comprehensive schedule of twenty-four unit prices for various work items, including masonry walls ($13.05 to $15.75 per square foot), metal stud wall assemblies ($8.50 per square foot), acoustical ceiling systems ($5.50 to $6.75 per item), sprinkler heads ($525 to $535 each), electrical devices and outlets ($135 to $530 each), and specialized labor services ($42.36 to $87.55 per hour). All bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of and full understanding of all addenda on the proper bid submittal form, with failure to obtain addenda not relieving bidders from obligations under their proposals. The existing Mt. View Middle School roof, installed in 2015, is a 4-ply BUR with capsheet manufactured by Firestone under a 20-year NDL warranty (issued November 17, 2015, Warranty No. RO 085440).
