Summary of 2nd QTR FY26 Food Bid
This is a solicitation for quotations issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, California, dated February 12, 2026. The MDC is seeking quotations to provide 2nd Quarter FY26 food subsistence and other food-related items for delivery by March 14, 2026. All contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) with a valid UEI/DUNS number and must complete representations and certifications. Quotations must bid on exact items, quantities, and packaging types as annotated in the solicitation; any specification changes will result in potential exclusion from award consideration.
Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer represents the best overall value, with evaluation based on three primary factors: ability to deliver items meeting specifications and time/delivery requirements, past performance (assessed through performance history, alerts, and surveys from government agencies and other Bureau of Prisons locations), and cost/price. While non-cost factors are significantly more important than price when combined, cost/price will substantially contribute to the selection decision. All deliveries must be palletized, with non-frozen perishable food delivered between 34–40 degrees Fahrenheit and frozen foods at 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Items failing specification compliance will be refused, and unacceptable conditionally received items must be picked up by the vendor within two weeks at vendor expense. Orders of $15,000 and below will be ordered on a credit card. For delivery schedule details, vendors should contact the Food Service Department at 213-485-0439 ext. 5118.
