MAS 81-IB RFI Questionnaire Synopsis: GSA is contemplating updating and revising Special Item Numbers (SINs) in Multiple Award Schedule 81-IB for Shipping, Packing and Packing Materials to better align with Industry changes and meet requirements of Federal customers and Civilian Agencies. A Vendor Roundtable Discussion may follow with interested parties on October 24, 2018 within Region 2 at our New York City location. An existing MAS contract is not a prerequisite to submit a reply.

This notice is for information only. No quotes, prices or capability statements are being requested. Federal customers buying similar products under Open Market procedures may also respond under Question No. 9 with any items/Services which are not currently being provided under this 81IB Schedule SIN 617 8-New Technology and are also invited to attend. Please complete and return the attached questionnaire no later than October 12, 2018 via email to MAS81IB@gsa.gov

MAS 81-IB Request For Information (RFI) Questionnaire Please answer the questions below:

1. Do you provide collapsible or recyclable or multi-function storage products in the commercial marketplace? (Y/N)

2. As a contractor in the Shipping, Packing and Packaging Commodity, do you provide ISO Containers, also referred to as BI-CONS, TRICONS and QUADCONS?

If no, please skip to Question 3.

If yes, please respond to the following questions:

2A When providing customized containers, do you also provide labor hours for set-up or is there a flat fee for ancillary services?

2B Would a buying guide assist in the sale of containers to federal customers?

2C What standards such as ISO certification are relevant to the industry?

2D What is the best way to describe to customers the difference between bicon, tricon, quadcon and possible modifications within the industry?

2E. Is there a standard warranty? Do you offer any long term maintenance options?

2F. Currently there is no leasing under MAS 81-IB. If GSA were to incorporate leasing of containers as an option in the Schedule, what considerations would need to be included in the contract, for the vendor and customer agency? In this scenario, the contractor retains the disposition and final retention of the item under a separate and new SIN category.

3. Do you modify or offer any variance or customizations (e.g. specialized deviations to meet requirements), maintenance and repair and do they develop new products?

If Yes to the above Question, please answer filtered questions below; otherwise skip to No.4.

If GSA proposes a Vendor Industry Roundtable for a group discussion among Competitors, with strict focus on “Containers”, would you be interested in attending via virtual or physical meeting on October 24, 2018 at GSA Region 2 in New York City, New York location? This not a contractor sales pitch; but opportunity to openly discuss Industry trends and marketplace changes.
