About this file
This document is an Addendum No. 2 Notification for a bid opportunity issued by the City of Asheville, North Carolina, specifically for Backflow & Various Fittings (bid number FBR WW0036-25). The addendum modifies the original bid specification for items #28-35, updates the bid due date to March 20, 2025, and addresses specific questions about manufacturer specifications. The current bid specification was initially set for "manufacture only" and has been revised to provide more detailed guidance on backflow assemblies, with Zurn Wilkins noted as an approved manufacturer.
The addendum instructs bidders to review the new Addendum 2 bid specification document, which contains changes marked in red. Bidders are required to sign the addendum notification and include it with their bid package, with a warning that failure to respond on the Addendum 2 bid document may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. The complete bid documents can be found on the City of Asheville's website at www.ashevillenc.gov/bids, and questions can be directed to Andrew Carlson, Purchasing Coordinator, at acarlson@ashevillenc.gov or 828-259-5447.

The bid currently reads manufacture only. This addenda modifies bid page and the bid specification for items #28-35.
Question: Section 4, items 31-35. For the backflow assemblies, I see that it says Zurn Wilkins as an approved manufacturer. Is there a specific model that you guys prefer?
Answer: See new Addendum 2 bid specification
Question: And as for the “repair kits” and “soft seated check valves”, do you know what models these would be for?
Answer: See new Addendum 2 bid specification

This document and all others can be found at www.ashevillenc.gov/bids under this bid number.
Please sign this addendum notification and include it with your bid package. The bid addendum is material to the bid and may deem your bid non-responsive if you do not respond on Addendum 2 bid document.
