About this file
This is an Overhaul Description document for a Turbo Supercharger used on 154 WPC (Water Point Class) Coast Guard vessels. The item is identified as a non-aircraft turbo supercharger with stock number 2950-12-390-3341, part number X5961010197, and shelf life of zero days upon receipt.
The contractor must disassemble, clean, and inspect the turbocharger to restore it to a service-ready condition meeting original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and design technical standards. The preliminary inspection phase requires the contractor to submit a detailed report and repair plan to the Coast Guard Contracting Officer for approval, including identification of the turbocharger by serial number, part number, and stock number; condition of the shipping crate; list of recommended replacement parts with individual pricing; overhaul labor costs broken down by hours and hourly rates; and comments on unusual observations. The complete overhaul must restore operating, coating, and performance characteristics to match the original design specifications. Turbochargers must be individually packaged in plastic and packed in ASTM-D6251 Type III Class 1 wood-cleated panel-board shipping boxes or ASTM-D6880 Class 2 heavy-duty screwed wooden boxes with bracing for adequate protection during storage and multiple shipments. Marking requirements follow IAW MIL-STD-129R with specific National Stock Number, item name, part number, work order number, date of repair, and serial number placement on the longest two sides of each box. Quality assurance includes standard production testing and inspections with certifications placed in each unit box and forwarded to the Coast Guard. The warranty guarantees the item against defects leading to failure for 90 days after installation for up to two years after delivery. Pricing provided includes OIR (Overhaul and Inspect and Repair) at $1,000.00 each, repair at $13,264.25, and cost new at $33,250.00.
